@ElrJK I don't think I'm the right person to ask 😅 I mostly tinker, talk to other cyclists, and search the internet.
You could start with taking care of the chain (wiping dirt and lubing), getting a set of Allen keys, adjusting seat height properly (many don't! there are guides online), find what gear system you have and look up how to adjust it, try finding and replacing brake pads when they wear out.
If you have a community bike shop nearby, pay them a visit!
