@Remittancegirl I honestly blame the media as well.
Obviously there were going to be troll farms claiming it wasn't real to try to gaslight people. But that itself would have only done limited harm if not for the media's refusal to call it what it is: a nazi salute. It was not "a controversial gesture" or "a strange movement".
The media has failed us by not reporting this as it is and allowing people to doubt. By consistently "both-siding" everything for years. Even now...
