I'm really glad to see this video, explaining clearly that Musk's nazi salute was real and consistent with his other behaviour in backing far-right extremism all over the world.
It's easy to feel like you're going insane when everyone is arguing that it "probably wasn't a nazi salute".
No, it was a real nazi salute. There is no logical reason to argue it could be anything else. In fact, it would be weird for him to not do it at some point.

To those who do give a shit: I understand how easy it is to give up. I'm extremely tired of this stuff myself too. I've been telling people this is really happening for so long and always been told I'm overreacting, and even now people argue it's "not a nazi salute".
It's important to remember they want us to give up. The best way to spite them is to keep going as strong as we can.
Fuck them.
Trans Rights Are Human Rights. Black Lives Matter. Etc, etc. Don't give up.

When I was in high school, I never understood how Hitler's rise to power worked. Like, surely people would stop this absurdly clearly public rise of hatred?
Seeing the last 8 years, seeing how we have literally gotten to the point where a nazi reached office and sieg heil'd multiple times in a row on public television and people are still sealioning and acting like it didn't happen...
I understand now. And I see we learned nothing in 80 years.

5 years ago, work let me choose between a gas Volkswagen and an electric Tesla as lease car.
Knowing Volkswagen's history, I did not expect the Tesla to turn out being the nazi car.
Anyway, I am extremely glad my lease is expiring soon. I am only sad it didn't already expire a few years ago when who Musk was started to become extremely clear for everyone willing to look at all.
This shit is genuinely scary.

Thank you, @IzzyOnDroid, for responding so quickly with removing the old broken build and having the fixed build live so quickly :)

If anyone is curious why I didn't just leave it at targetSdk 35 and opted Catima out of edge-to-edge: there appears to be a bug in Google's edge-to-edge opt-out code which caused the multi-card-selection bar in Catima's home screen to be displayed as a second app bar (like the good old days where everyone had browser toolbars 😉)

[#]catima 2.34.4 is out!
This reverts Catima to targetSdk 34 (Android 14) for now, to fix the UI regressions introduced in Catima 2.34.3.
It also includes the fixes in 2.34.3 and a new little feature to sort your cards by the "valid from" date, useful for things like train tickets.

That being said, it would be great if Catima had a group of dedicated testers so there would be more safeguards against bad updates than just me forgetting to properly test one single case 🥲

This is on me, I didn't test thoroughly enough with 3 button navigation in landscape mode, the majority of my testing was in portrait mode and with the default gesture navigation. I'm sorry.
I'm planning to soon release a new quick release that opts out on edge-to-edge completely, to properly fix it later (help is very welcome, edge-to-edge is quite a complex undertaking).
This is being tracking in https://github.com/CatimaLoyalty/Android/issues/2301.

I've decided to yank #Catima 2.34.3 due to issues with Android 15 edge-to-edge support.
Specifically, when using button navigation on Android 15 landscape parts of the app are inaccessible.
The GitHub release has been reverted to a "pre-release", IzzyOnDroid has removed the release on my request, F-Droid has been notified (but they will likely still publish the new update for 3-5 days anyway due to their inability to remove apps out-of-build-cycle) and the Google Play rollout has been stopped.

Catima 2.34.3 is out!
This bumps the targetSdk to 35 (Android 15), fixes a design issue where the keyboard covered the save button in the edit screen and improves pkpass file detection slightly.

I've (finally) added a Code of Conduct to Catima.
I've always been hesitant about adding one. Not because I disagree with the concept but because I've had negative experiences in FOSS spaces where a CoC was supposed to protect but wasn't enforced. I always worried I wouldn't be able to do enough and cause pain.
I learned now that I do enough, more than most people. And in a society where some companies are writing down that hate is OK, it is time to explicitly state: abuse is not tolerated.

I've been using #HomeAssistantVoice, the voice assistant from #HomeAssistant for about a week now. tl;dr: I think it's kinda cool, but definitely nerd-only right now.
If someone is interested in perhaps picking one up, consider giving my experience a read: https://community.home-assistant.io/t/one-week-of-home-assistant-voice-a-pretty-good-start/826175 :)
Hope it helps someone!

Facebook joining Twitter in actively promoting the spread of hate speech is fully unsurprising, but this directness on carving us out as explicit allowed target is a disgusting new low.
What am I supposed to say at this point? "I told you so?"
Queer people are not the enemy, we never have been, we're just a target for y'all to focus on while they keep taking everything from you they can. All of this is a distraction so the rich and powerful can keep taking from you.

My personal favourite source is #IzzyOnDroid, as it updates quite fast (checks for updates every 24 hours) and adds some additional security scans.
Getting it directly from #GitHub (if you have something to check for updates for you) or #FDroid would be okay too (although for F-Droid you should know it uses their signature, so you can't update from anywhere else)
[#]GooglePlay, eh... if you have no other way I guess? Google is quite abusive to FOSS devs...

TIL #Catima is apparently mirrored onto #RuStore through #Aptoide, or so someone reported: https://github.com/CatimaLoyalty/Android/discussions/1812#discussioncomment-11740997
Few problems with that: I have no control over the RuStore listing, nor do I control the Aptoide listing. Both may very well be malware.
It should go without saying: don't download apps from sketchy unofficial "app stores" and other APK download sites.
https://catima.app/ and https://github.com/CatimaLoyalty/Android link you to all the safe and supported download sources :)

Happy holidays to all who celebrate them!
I just released a minor Catima bugfix release: 2.34.2. This version fixes the archived/starred status being hard to see or even invisible when displayed on top of certain card images.

[#]Catima 2.34.1 is out!
This fixes a minor bug in Catima 2.34.0 where selecting an "invalid" pkpass file (corrupted/not actually pkpass) after choosing to open from Pkpass would cause the app to crash. Now, you just get a little message stating the file could not be read instead.
