Some people are currently making an effort to move away from Meta including WhatsApp. If you also have this one person in your family that you cannot convince to use another messenger, consider to turn off the permission that allows WhatsApp to access your contacts. This way you can still use WhatsApp to stay in contact with this one person without sharing your entire contact list on your phone including all the data that belongs to your contacts (and that you should no be sharing with Meta, because it's not yours to share). It's not an ideal solution, but it's better than nothing.
