The current Trump 2.0 shitshow does invite a lot of worrying comparisons with the early days of Nazi Germany (thanks to Elmo for removing any last shreds of doubt).
However, the USA today has a much stronger federal structure than the Weimar Republic in 1933. It will be interesting (*) to see how this plays out.
(* as in "slow-motion toxic chemical freight train wreck right outside my door" interesting 😑)
