While watching ReBoot today, I came across the X-Files spoof episode where "Data Nully" was guest-voiced by Gillian Anderson (they were unfortunately not able to get David Duchovny to voice her counterpart, "Fax Modem"). I'd recognize her voice anywhere, and I had completely forgotten that this episode existed. They even made fun of those ridiculously high-powered flashlights that Mulder & Scully always carried around. Classic!

I had also forgotten just how many pot-shots the ReBoot crew took at so many pop-culture icons of the time. The Road Warrior, Voltron, Crossroads, The X-Files - nothing was safe!

And speaking of The X-Files, tonight during dinner I ran into an early Season 5 episode called "The Unusual Suspects" which detailed how Mulder first meets the Lone Gunmen, and it included the character of one Detective John Munch from Homicide: Life On The Street, who was always portrayed as a conspiracy nut (and incidentally also had several crossover episodes with Law & Order). IIRC, Homicide was an NBC show and X-Files was Fox, so it was surprising to see an inter-network crossover character.

Would have been totally badass if either Mulder or Scully (or both) had showed up on one of those other two shows to add some legitimacy to the tie-in and set them up as contemporaries.

Missed opportunity, I say.
