Until local Palestinians-Jewish communities embrace closer, friendlier relations - with mutual recognition of universal rights* - unfortunately it’s very likely that we will keep seeing more events like these.

But even with the robust inter-community relations, the risk will never be zero. It’ll just be dramatically lower than now.

• mutual recognition of universal rights removes all ‘(social) justice’ that offenders use to ‘justify’ their actions, and makes it clear that the consequence is ‘social alienation’. This is often much more ‘real’ than the threat of jail/fines.
