Reading mid- to late- 20th century #academic works on the #history of #Louisiana, #slavery, and #Creoles, it's frustrating how bad citations can be. The formating (1 footnote per paragraph) makes it hard to tell which source the information came from, the sources often aren't primary sources, and interpretive liberties are often taken of those sources. Is this still the norm in this field?
