First off, I don't agree with this; I think it's stupid, frankly. I'm just saying that this is what I think is happening, whether or not I like it, and I do not.
I made a very similar comment earlier under someone else's post about TikTok; I really think it's just about the money.
TikTok was bringing more United States dollars into China than any other app, I would imagine. Yeah, there's the app you just mentioned, and then there's probably a bunch of other Chinese owned apps that most people have never even heard of, if I had to guess. No one's stopping you from installing those apps, and they're probably not very hard no find. The thing is, none of those apps make nearly as much money as TikTok did, or I would be shocked. If any of those apps ever do become as financially successful, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if they get banned, too.
I don't think it has anything to do with anything, except that the U.S. doesn't want its citizens financially benefiting China. I think that's all there is to it.
