Community is key. There's no room for loners in the Fediverse, because it's too big for just a few to handle and steer. Collaboration is the cornerstone of a free, open, and functioning network. It's not just necessary to build the software, we need to sustain and refine that software over time as the network grows.

And we must accept the fact that not everyone has the same idea of what "social media" is, what it should be, and what it should be used for, and learn to be okay with that. We need to understand what people are looking for, and focus our message to the appropriate parties and those who might be open to finally listening to an alternative.

One of my favorite quotes from a certain TV show is "It's not about being right, Mr. McCoy, it's about doing right." We need to focus on *doing right for the communities that already exist to retain fedizens and not just attract them.

And that's gonna take a whole lotta collaboration, my friends. We're not those silos - let's stop acting like them.
