@adbenitez @holii @icaria36 Just to be clear, #Signal requires A phone number for registration but it does not have to be your cell phone number. It can be any number you can receive texts or voice calls on, even if only temporarily. It can be a Google Voice number if you have one of those. That does NOT make it any better, but until the #XMPP proponents come up with a super easy to use alternative that is TOTALLY FREE (like Signal) and that DOES NOT REQUIRE A PHONE NUMBER (UNlike Signal), Signal is probably about the best you can get.
