MIL came for a visit to talk about "something important".
Turns out she wants to adopt an 11 year old dog from a shelter. She misses her dogs who passed away about 6 years ago, two border collies. She is 70 now and does not think she can cope with high energy dogs (good choice), but a rescue might work out.
So she came to ask if we would be the godparents to the dog in case she is having health issues π
Very sweet, looking forward to meeting the new family member soon π
