Some time ago, probably around the time I left Twitter, I obfuscated terms like “Twitter”, “Musk”, and “Trump”.

It was brought to my attention that, for example, “Tr*mp” prevented people from effectively filtering “Trump”.

So I stopped doing that. You should, too, if you’re still doing such obfuscations.

Don’t disable others’ ability to choose the terms they filter.

Using such obfuscations does not deprive the “target” of any attention, but does deprive other users of the power of filtering.
