Upgraded a #Linux #PC #GPU from a Radeon HD 5870 to an R9 290x.

For performance? Hell no. This machine never draws anything fancier than a web page. The 290x isn't exactly cutting-edge either; it was in an old gaming PC.

No, it's because the 290x supports my ultrawide display during boot, and the 5870 doesn't. Previously, I needed a second display connected in order to have a working display during boot, and I almost never used the second display otherwise. 'Twas annoying.

So yay!
