I assume you’ve never worked in security but you can be held personally liable if you willfully introduce vulnerabilities, this is considered an insider threat.
It is bad advice that could land people in prison.
Objection is fine, slowly pushing back also of course, but do not fuck around with sabotage especially if your employer is a federal contractor because you will get found and you will not have the same life afterward.
