@pluralistic The trouble, of course, being those in the government who don't want us to have privacy. All this surveillance that's so useful for economic abuse is also useful for governmental abuse. Even those who claim they want us to have privacy can't be trusted, since many of them want an exception carved out for themselves, and refuse to accept that this is less like giving them a master key and more like making a wall that only they can phase through.
