There is an adage in journalism, "Kill your darlings". I.e. if you have a nifty turn of phrase, but it just does not land, does not bring actual truth further, just NIX it.
Same thing goes for toots. Feel very proud that I just X-ed a reply I had going that was not going to actually make the thread as a whole any better.
