@lauren @jkramersmyth @foxxtrot Fortunately, they had an old Chromebook that was still logged in so I was able to assign new recovery options. Unfortunately, Google continues to use the landline even though I deleted it. Logon attempts state that it will continue to use the old number but I really had to dig to find out for how long (about a week). I assume it will then offer to let me use the new recovery options. I suppose this is for security.
