@ThisCJ The death of a long acquaintance is like the removal of a brick from the foundation of our life. Even with someone we've not seen for years, the loss is very real.
Yesterday my partner and I were trying to remember who we loaned our two person tent to, and we each went through our addressbooks in case it sparked a recollection. I found myself repeatedly saying "No, she's dead ... he died last year ..." It was sobering.
