So, I was a best uncle this year during christmas. My nephew got a very, VERY loud toy. One soldered in potentiometer later it was possible to stand near without hear protection.
Next time someone I know will have a child I'm getting them a set of small potentiometers as a present. If they ask why am I getting them this, I'll tell them "you'll know soon enough".
