My guess: off-by-one error in real life, the code that triggers the scroll mistakenly decides that the text won't fit, and the procedure that scrolls is confused by the text that fits exactly.

So, I was a best uncle this year during christmas. My nephew got a very, VERY loud toy. One soldered in potentiometer later it was possible to stand near without hear protection.
Next time someone I know will have a child I'm getting them a set of small potentiometers as a present. If they ask why am I getting them this, I'll tell them "you'll know soon enough".

So an AI-generated band got recommended to me on #spotify. They're not very open about being #AI, but you can hear the strange imperfections like abruptly ended words and the characteristic chorus.

I sometimes wonder what part of the sounds I hear were analogue through the whole way from the source to my ear.
FM radio often isn't - as far as I know it's usually transmitted digitally from the studio to the transmitter tower. Mobile phones are digital, and I don't remember when I last saw a landline that wasn't an obvious VoIP underneath.
So... we're left with talking live to each other, some live performances (I guess not all) and maybe some personal radios. And nature sounds.

I am not really a #fuckcars person, but when you think nothing will get more annoying than intentionally broken mufflers a car parks on the opposite of your window with a marten repeller.
It works by emitting a high frequency sound every few seconds. The sound I can only compare to how a toothache would sound like. And it does so, without fail, every few seconds. The car hasn't moved for 4 days now.
I'm considering steps as drastic as putting a polite note behind the wipers.
