@rolle I'm (mostly) descended from Vikings, and I'm lucky if I can make one change, save, and exit :-)
On the other hand, even though I'm a dyed-in-the-wool Linux fan, I remember that EDLIN and DEBUG in DOS were scriptable and, working for IBM North Harbour, sending a text file for DEBUG<MYFILE seemed like the best way to transmit a binary file back in the 1990s :-)
