@Pineywoozle Canada's far left wouldn't think they are the same, either. Nor does it far right, because we try to pay attention to the likely end result of every policy. Our right tends to err on the side of "how we've always done it" and our left pushes hard to avoid the trap of never progressing.
You need to understand our left and right thinking, while containing a lot of overlap, is simply not the same as your idea of left and right. Look at Britain for example, where left and right also overlap with your and our left-right ideas, yet manage to have things neither you nor I would agree with from the nearest equivalent party. Everywhere on the planet has a left-leaning and a right-leaning ideal. But they are far from directly aligning with each other.
You can be conservative without being an asshole. You can be liberal without getting stoned for breakfast.
What you've been saying about Canada's far left and right wrongly assumes out left and right are the same, to the point what you said about farL was the exact opposite of reality here.
