After I started living on my own, the whole apartment became "my room", so I no longer have piles of dishes on my desk.

My current desk is also too small to keep dishes on, besides the ones I'm using, if I don't want to place them awkwardly.

Nowadays keeping dishes/bottles on my desk would probably bother me to the point, where bringing them to the kitchen would just be easier.
