When my brother and I were squabbling 'drop dead' and slamming the door was the way we ended things. Our mother went mad every time. Years later she explained. During WW2 she worked on an RAF base and had been groped by a senior officer. She told him to drop dead. And that night he died of a heart attack. Logically she knew he was relic of WW1 brought out of retirement, a smoker and drinker and a heart attack was not unexpected but the whole thing stayed with her.
