I feel welcome but slightly lightweight on Hachyderm. I might sign up for a botsin.space account to run my side project PixieReport as a Mastodon bot.
Reputedly, Mastodon chat is a tedious place to come from Black Twitter, because it's harder to control unhelpful interactions.
