Many are saying we are voting to keep a "democracy." Yes, but what sort of "democracy" are we voting to keep? As some have reminded us, even the defeat of Trump does not mean the end of the fascist threat we all see much more clearly now. So, what to do? I say move towards direct democracy and away from competitive, "winners" and "losers" democracy. As long as any group feels they are not listened to, and thus not part of the rest of the population because they are "losers," fascism and charismatic fascist leaders will appeal to them.
