@unixviking I started on Redhat about a thousand years ago but once I tried Debian and discovered the so-wonderful package system Apt, I fell in love with how it sorted out any dependencies and installed everything I needed. Close to that, I really loved the fact that it's easy to work with thus the entire 25,000 package library could be installed with a single command.
Redhat was OK but the package manager of the time failed to resolve dependencies and just plain more software was available
