@pandoc It looks like the APKBUILD for texlive on edge supports ARM64, so if you can go edge (for now) or wait until v3.21 finalizes, you might not need to fuss about too much.
I have never had success getting gcompat to do much for me, so I can't be of help.
As for GLIBC Alpine, I do not believe there are any workable guides, nor much appetite for it, either.
