Catching up on the WordPress situation:

— Dozens of WP and OSS developers are expressing shock and dismay on Twitter, asking Matt if he's ok, asking him to chill out

— They're also being locked out of WP.org for being "associated" with WP Engine, i.e. being nothing more than a WPE customer

— Lots of contactors are losing a LOT of work because clients are spooked and reassessing the viability of WordPress

If there was ever a way to dislodge the WordPress hegemony, it had to come from inside.
