Yes is fucking cold outside in NYC, but it hasn't been this cold in literal years (this is probably the coldest winter in a decade) and this midwestern boy will be sort of sad to see it go.

If you want dystopian workplace science fiction, watch Severance.

If you want dystopian post-apocalyptic workplace science fiction, watch Silo.

If you want dystopian far-future workplace science fiction, watch Foundation.

If you want dystopia with Tom Hanks, watch Finch.

You should watch Invasion too, as it has really nice, slow-paced, near-future apocalyptic character studies (often in the workplace).

(Honestly they're all very good though)

@ivory is it possible to present these author photos differently? they look like editorial content, in this case it looks like the photo is showing the victim of a crime

Trump continues to remove some of the biggest dipshits from congress, sadly this time he's made Gaetz his AG.

There's a trump staffer with my exact name and I want to keep my twitter handle out of his hands, so I don't want to delete my account.

I DO want to delete all my tweets — is there a easy way to do that?

I'm re-reading The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, and Lisbeth has a shirt with the phrase “Armageddon was yesterday, today we have a serious problem” and I've never more immediately wanted to pull out the silkscreen press and get to work

The Nazis thought Germany was just for Germans, and then they redefined what a German was.

MAGA thinks America is just for Americans. And they're already trying to redefine what an American is.

Here’s my hot take for this Monday before the election — Harris looked way too relaxed on SNL to be someone who thinks this race is up in the air.

Catching up on the WordPress situation:

— Dozens of WP and OSS developers are expressing shock and dismay on Twitter, asking Matt if he's ok, asking him to chill out

— They're also being locked out of WP.org for being "associated" with WP Engine, i.e. being nothing more than a WPE customer

— Lots of contactors are losing a LOT of work because clients are spooked and reassessing the viability of WordPress

If there was ever a way to dislodge the WordPress hegemony, it had to come from inside.

We watched The Fall Guy the other day and it’s charming and fun!

Turns out, it was number one at the box office when it opened and did very respectable numbers on the second weekend too.

Yet the general consensus is that it didn't do very well, which is only based on the fact that it didn't make its budget back. I'm done letting studio accounting and budgeting pre-judge movies for me.
