Well, I just quit the last book recommendation group I belonged to on Facebook. They auto blocked a post of mine because I failed to include a date of publication for a book that I mentioned in passing.
I have absolutely no toleration for being forcibly shut up, by man OR machine. Censor me and you lose me for good. And that seems to happen a lot, particularly on Facebook.
It bothers me, because I know that I am a rare resource when it comes to book recommendations. I'm an old and voracious reader who loved old books even when I was a child. So I know many books that have been all but forgotten. And I have an unusual memory, so I can pull up all sorts of books that I've read from decades ago.
Plus I've been storing the recommendations I've written for years. So I'd like to find somewhere online where I can give recommendations without a digital Nazi overlord hanging over my head!
Any suggestions? Facebook, Reddit, and Twitter/X are out.
