A) I didn't know that Mastodon HAS a CEO. Can't say that I like the idea.

B) I've never liked the concept of "hate speech". Once any form of speech can be categorized as censorable, whoever has the power to make that decision has dangerous power. The concept of hate speech is antithetical to the concept of free speech.

C) Facebook's fact checkers were right wing organizations. How does getting rid of them "move Facebook to the right"? I don't believe that Zuckerberg is going to stop censoring speech, particularly anti-billionaire speech, but replacing secretive, unaccountable censorship with community notes seems like a GOOD thing - certainly more democratic than otherwise.

But of course, I'm a free speech absolutist. Which apparently makes me the villain of the century.

I believe that we are in a race. The ruling class is working to reduce our numbers to the point where we're no longer able to overthrow them. If they can stall the Revolution that, long, they win - although I doubt that our species will survive for long anyway.

I'm hoping that enough of the working class wakes up in time to end capitalism - whether peacefully, or violently. As it is, the elite are killing us off like mad.

Joe Biden didn't just imprison millions of black Americans with his crime bill. He ENSLAVED them in prisons run by for-profit private corporations. And he and his cronies (both Republicans and Democrats) were richly rewarded with campaign donations from those private corporations, which forced inmates to work for little or nothing and tortured those who refused to obey.

I believe many of those politicians own stock in those prison corporations. Which makes them slave owners as well as slave traders.

And don't forget that those prisoners were "competing" against free American workers, driving down wages for everybody.

There's no punishment harsh enough for the political and fiscal elite.

Well, I just quit the last book recommendation group I belonged to on Facebook. They auto blocked a post of mine because I failed to include a date of publication for a book that I mentioned in passing.

I have absolutely no toleration for being forcibly shut up, by man OR machine. Censor me and you lose me for good. And that seems to happen a lot, particularly on Facebook.

It bothers me, because I know that I am a rare resource when it comes to book recommendations. I'm an old and voracious reader who loved old books even when I was a child. So I know many books that have been all but forgotten. And I have an unusual memory, so I can pull up all sorts of books that I've read from decades ago.

Plus I've been storing the recommendations I've written for years. So I'd like to find somewhere online where I can give recommendations without a digital Nazi overlord hanging over my head!

Any suggestions? Facebook, Reddit, and Twitter/X are out.
