It seems the cause of the problems and pain with my Split DNS setup is caused by Browsers starting to query the "HTTPS" record.
Unfortunately this will lead to my internal FQDN being resolved as if i was outside - which is then not working. So form home I can't reach my webserver in the next room.
So... now a cascade of upgrades needs to be done in order to make dnsmasq not forward these requests to the outside world...
