Toot

Finally all caught up on the weekly stitch journal prompts. This prompt from a couple of weeks ago was inspired by the incredible work of fiber artist Judith Hill, specifically her mammoth "Not to Know but to Go On". I took the prompt and ran with it, going for vertical placement of my couched pieces, leaving frayed fabric ends and long tails of embroidery floss at the "roots" of an abstract forest. As it came together I saw wild fire season in the colors and textures. Due to the way the piece is worked from both sides at once, it's fully reversible, with sides that contrast but complement each other. I have to say this is one of my most favorite pieces of the year. #slowstitchwithk3n #handembroidery
