my manjaro install took 20s to decrypt FDE, because cryptsetup/luks estimates the number of iterations performed by checking how many it can do in ~1second. Unfortunately, it does this when the system is booted, but by default the installer sets up grub to decrypt, which does not use hardware acceleration.
not entirely sure about that one, but reducing the iterations worked
