A great read about US state birds. Currently a lot of states have the same state bird. Or it may not be a good representative of the state’s environments. So this series of articles suggests some alternatives. I enjoyed seeing some birds I didn’t know much about and the reasons why they were selected.
The article is in four parts, so check the “next” section at the end to see all suggestions! https://www.allaboutbirds.org/news/a-modest-proposal-can-ebird-help-choose-better-state-birds-part-1/ if you’re in the US, what do you think about the selection for your state?
