TIL: Korean word for leap day (Feb 29) is 윤일.

일 = day. 윤 comes from 閏 ("surplus") which apparently itself combines 門 (doors) +王 (king), referring to the day when the king traditionally stayed within the palace on this ancillary-duty day. #윤일 #閏日 #linguistics #leapday
