A business I bought something from is ghosting me after requesting an exchange. I got one message telling me they're on holidays and will be back next week, and then no responses for the past month. The business is registered to a "Michael Dafo" in NSW, so I wouldn't have expected it to be a scam or anything but it feels pretty close. What do you even do?

@ash “Australian Consumer Law” and “Fair Trading” are probably the terms you need. Don’t know if it’s your state or the business’s registered state you need to do this in, but here’s the NSW one for a taste. https://www.nsw.gov.au/departments-and-agencies/fair-trading/complaints-and-enquiries/products-and-services/safety

@futzle Cheers. This feels like a huge waste of time for something so small, but I suppose that's what they're counting on.

@ash @futzle yeah VCAT here in our end of the world is pretty good for this. The filing fee isn't huge, and while the hearing waitlists can be long it's usually not necessary as filing there sends a very clear "I am not going to give up and go away" message.
