David Lynch's Dune (1984): Art by Ron Miller
I love how this film tried to recreate sci-fi novel cover art on screen. Maybe too ambitious for its time, but it's got a lot of nerve.

I remember seeing Dune in the theater when it was released and thought it was the weirdest thing I had every seen and loved it instantly. As pretty is the newer Dune with its modern CGI, I actually prefer the 1984 Dune.

I've do a rewatch at least once a year for decades.
Recently, I found a fan edit online that added a bunch of previously edited footage and it's great. It's called the "spicediver fanedit". You can see it on archive.org if you want.

@TheSpaceshipper I have a soft spot for David Lynch's Dune. It's flawed, but fun, and really captured my imagination as a kid.
