Help me out #peertube - I can like a video when I see it on my timeline, but if I click on the video and go to the peertube instance, I can no longer click like because I have to be logged in and I don't have an account on the local peertube instance.

If all I have is the peertube video URL, how can I like it?

@ellyxir Mastodon has a "search or paste URL" field which accepts an arbitrary URL to an ActivityPub-enabled page, which lets you interact with the post in question. Does Sharkey have anything similar?

@mkj@social.mkj.earth @ellyxir@humanwords.cc yup, sharkey has the same thing, you can just use the search tab and paste the entire URL, it will load and let you interact with it :)

@ellyxir @froge For whatever that might be worth, I tried in Mastodon and it loads a post with a link but doesn't embed the video itself. So it seems more likely to be either a Sharkey issue or a server issue than a Peertube issue.

@mkj@social.mkj.earth @froge@social.glitched.systems yeah, i cant even get that far with the url. if it loads the post then at least i can "like" the video, which was my goal. thank you for trying! i also tried doing a search for the title with the host specified, but sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. im not sure whats busted with text indexing...
