@82mhz

I'm currently thinking about filtering my RSS streams for certain terms. I like reading news - just not all of them 😕

Toot

@hikingdude @82mhz I did just that recently. Added "Trump" and "Musk" to my filters on Heise and Golem. Even though I stopped following general news about a year ago, I still learned way too much about what these idiots are doing via tech outlets. For whatever reason they feel like they need to cover every single post Musk does on X bashing German politicians and their response. It's embarrassing and I'm having none of it!

@mforester @hikingdude

That pissed me off too, that even the tech news is constantly reporting about every last stupid thing Musk says... some the ancient wisdom "don't feed the trolls" seems to have been lost.

How are you filtering away these articles?

@82mhz @hikingdude I'm using Miniflux to aggregate RSS feeds. It has an option to define a Regex and will filter out items that match the Regex in their subject.

@82mhz @mforester

I just made a simple php script to filter certain terms. Just very basic...

@hikingdude @82mhz I built something very similar for podcast feeds a few years back. 🙂

One of the podcasts I listen to has a premium feed on Patreon. They have a bunch of shows, but because Patreon allows only a single feed, everything is thrown together.
