I have no idea what happened, but my #PopOS installation will no longer boot. From what I can tell it doesn't find any disks, because there aren't any I can see in initramfs. I booted into a live system and checked that both disks are there. I was able to mount my system partition perfectly fine. It does have the expected UUID as well and I could print the one page I wanted without any issues.

I tried chroot and update-initramfs, but it didn't help.

I used and updated the laptop yesterday. 😩

Borderline incredible, but the kids are still asleep and I managed to watch the entire Sonic the hedgehog movie. 😁

It was surprisingly good. I didn't expect much, but it made me laugh and was a perfect fit for a relaxing evening. 🙂

Also a movie my wife wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole. 😅

My wife's going out with a friend tonight and I was looking forward to a nice uninterrupted Dark Souls session...

But I'm just dead tired. I think I've slept about 4 hours this night. And because I drank a few beers with friends yesterday, those 4 hours weren't really all that regenerative abyway.

I think I'm gonna take a nice bath and watch a movie. 🙂

Back to playing #DarkSouls for a bit. 5 minutes in and I'm already uncursed. I expected this to take way longer...

Also the butcher ambush is gone, so the fight up to the Burg wasn't as tough as I expected.

I initially planned to buy a Purging Stone off of the Undead Merchant, but 6000 souls!!! So I went through Firelink and up through the Parish to the bell tower to buy a cheaper one. Thanks to a Homeward Bone I'm back to where I was...uncursed. 😁

I had to add a filter for Neil Gaiman. I haven't read the article, I haven't even read the list of trigger warnings... And it still makes me sick to my stomach.

Good riddance. Hope he gets what he deserves. My heart goes out to all people he has wronged, from his immediate victims to everybody who simply liked his writing as I did.

Back to #DarkSouls.

Made a quick trip to the Moonlight Butterfly. I remember taking it down on my very first try way back when, but it killed me four times today. 😅

With the souls I bought a bunch of Titanite shards and "visited" the Undead Merchant. In other news: I now have a Uchigatana+5 and it slays. 😁

Currently looking at the streets of lower Undead Burg on my way to Capra.

I don't usually do polls, but this seems like a good one.

My initial plan was to go through Blighttown the hard way. However, after I slept on it, I remembered how much I HATE Blighttown.

I'll still beat up Capra and the Gaping Dragon, but I'd rather take the shortcut to the poison swamp, rather than going down the hard way.

But...I'll let you decide. What do you think?

I never noticed this, at least not this clearly: the Undead Parish is the first area where they really test your patience.

You can run through the Asylum and Burg just fine, but everything in the Parish is put in chokeholds or ambushes to punish you for that.

The shield & spear soldier on the bridge, the rats, the soldier with boar in front of the gate, the hollow that taunts you into an ambush, the caped Knights...

Everything is just directly in your way.

I swear one time I made it up to Quelag without getting killed once. I'm not terrible, but I've been better at this game.
