I’ll say it again: Apple absolutely dropped the ball on Screen Time for parents’ managing their kid’s iPhone. It’s a mess.

@tvaziri 💯 my daughter’s 3 so nowhere near having a phone but I looked into it out of curiosity and it looks pretty lame.

@tvaziri Google didn't exactly blow me away with their version either.

@tvaziri We use it, but it's been the same (and sometimes mysteriously just annoyingly not quite what we set) for so long. They could do so much better.

@tvaziri Yes!! An example: There are handful of 'useful' apps that I would like our kid to try. So I always allow them. The rest of the apps are restricted. They can be used for a fixed amount of time in total. Since usage of the 'useful' apps counts to the total amount of time, our kid rarely touches 'useful' apps. He refuses to use school apps for example if there is still a minute of Brawl Stars left, which is in the morning is always the case, since we allow 'normal' app usage from 1pm on. 🤦♂️

@tvaziri some of the settings are so cryptic and unintuitive. In general it’s a mess and very frustrating to use with my kids. Even though they have the same settings their experiences are different.
