[#]introduction time!

My name is Martha. I am a Colorado based nature photographer and co-founder of Outdoor Photo Alliance. I am one who does not stick to one genre of photography. I like grand landscapes, small scenes, macro, wildlife, abstract and night photography. If there is something new to try, I’ll try it.

I believe mixing it up allows for more creativity.

@MarthaMontiel You should consider having a pixelfed account if your posts will be mostly photography. I'll follow you with my pixelfed account to make sure i don't miss your pictures.

@michaelrussell @human3500 @MarthaMontiel You can follow Mastodon's accounts on Pixelfed anyway, so it's not like it would change anything!

@stephanie Yeah exactly. I tried out pixelfed so I could have an educated opinion on it recently. Its nice, but it is so subtly different from Mastodon that I wouldn't recommend it to most users (over Mastodon). The seamless nature between the two works great though, so ultimately what you choose makes so little differencee as you said. @human3500 @MarthaMontiel

@michaelrussell the only reason I have a Pixelfed account is so I can share the link with family haha Mastodon is too personal

@stephanie I'm sure many people have an alt account for that kind of purpose!

@michaelrussell @stephanie @human3500 @MarthaMontiel From my understanding, Mastodon instance moderation is 1000x better as well. Loving the choices!

@michaelrussell @stephanie @MarthaMontiel These two different type of apps in the Fediverse serve a different purpose (in my opinion). Sure, all of the content is available in Mastodon which is exactly why i have a photography specific account in Pixelfed in addition to this general purpose account.

@human3500 Its the same thing. I'm, really just pointing this out because with a lot of new Mastodon people they are getting flooded with a lot of people chastising them for not being on pixelfed itself (you were nice about it!). So much so that the official pixelfed account here had to make a statement. I'm sure it is mostly meant in a friendly way, it just happens a lot. @MarthaMontiel
