For #WildlifeWednesday I have one of my favourite owl photos - this Snowy Owl (Bubo scandiacus) jumping onto a log in a tidal marsh. I photographed this from a dike trail so as to not disturb the owls resting in the marsh.

I think this was the first time (2008) I saw the iconic scene of Mount Shuksan reflected in Picture Lake in Washington State. I managed to get decent conditions too. :)

A male Red-winged Blackbird (Agelaius phoeniceus) singing in the marsh at Iona Beach Regional Park in Richmond, British Columbia, Canada. This male is engaged in a "Song Spread" display - hunching his shoulders forward and spreading his tail. The "song spread" is a territorial defence display and also serves to attract females.

For #MountainMonday:
Green and purple aurora borealis over the Golden Ears (Mount Blanshard) from Pitt Meadows, British Columbia, Canada. The May 2024 aurora display was one of the strongest since 2003 and brought great aurora displays to the Vancouver area. I certainly never thought I'd be photographing aurora over the Golden Ears some day!
