Toot

I’m not super hopeful that there’s a good answer for this but… are there any health tracker devices that aren’t horrific on the #privacy front? I currently have a Fitbit. Tracking my sleep and heart rate variability had been the most effective way for me to anticipate and prevent catastrophic crashes, and relying on paper tracking or how I ‘feel’ is not a useful replacement. Are there ways to monitor this stuff in safer ways?

@mayintoronto Thank you!! Hopefully someone with experience will chime in but either way it’s great to know this exists. I had not come across it before.

@Tiffany I heard about it last year when a bunch of local nerds were exploring open-source hardware.

@mayintoronto @Tiffany

I've got one. The heartrate monitor isn't great, and can't sync with your phone. So it does kinda feel self-defeated on that point.

@Tiffany 🤞 - hope it helps - at minimum, I'd trust, say, the Garmin or apple tracking ecosystem a lot more than I'd trust Google/Fitbit for data sharing. Best luck in finding tools that work!
