So I've figured out how to balance the roof structure so it is even on both sides, because I have fireplaces in opposite corners, therefore the roof must start "one" (effectively the size of said fireplace) in so then you can get a reasonably close center roof line up, sometimes you just have to test to see how things (will) work.

5th floor attic sort of thing, just makes it easier to build roof.
You can see the initial build down technique here. (yeah I know it's dark, time does not stop for pretty pictures, it's night, get over it.

You can probably see like me, that, the initial build line may not line up with the final roof pieces when I put them on, ie. there will be a gap, which would cause roof instability. (when you are building this high, if you introduce instability, you get less leeway, it goes to red very quick)
It is however a stepping stone to then place the intended pieces later on. (you just put them on top)

That's why I do what I do, though I was never an actual builder in real life (mostly, I did some), I did work a lot with wood at times, and I was more a civil construction sort of guy.
It all helps, and just because it's a game set in times of past, does not mean that different rules apply, in some ways it's actually realistic, and I think that's pretty cool.
