Switching from 42x23 to 39x21, hoping that this will help with the βchain either to long or too shortβ issue. π€

It worked! This even-odd number of teeth seemed to be the reason of the chain being βin between sizesβ. It's not usually an issue, but I'd rather not adjust the fender which gives the wheel little room to play.
I'm glad I didn't have to go with a half-link or a chain tensioner.
Left the 23 in the back for the steepest hills π

@Anibyl would you have some ressources for a newbie in bike checkups and repair please? π₯Ίπ«£ Iβve bought an used electric bike last year but I want to be sure to do things correctly (doing 60km a week during summer and spring).

@ElrJK I don't think I'm the right person to ask π I mostly tinker, talk to other cyclists, and search the internet.
You could start with taking care of the chain (wiping dirt and lubing), getting a set of Allen keys, adjusting seat height properly (many don't! there are guides online), find what gear system you have and look up how to adjust it, try finding and replacing brake pads when they wear out.
If you have a community bike shop nearby, pay them a visit!

@Anibyl No worries thank you very much! It's already nice. I'll check for the height, I haven't put any attention to that. I've found a social economy repair shop in Montreal.
