I feel like this is a dynamic we all “see” every day without realizing it.
When we’re like “Why isn’t my favorite [show, store, band, etc.] on Fedi?” the answer is probably that they’re owned by a company that is owned by a company that is owned by a company that has to vet every single platform them they use and explicitly allow them.

When we say “The UX sucks for normal people.” it’s not because we all want our grandma on here.
It’s because our favorite F1 drivers (as an example) will probably never be on here until the content teams that represent them can get their boss’s boss’s boss to approve it, which would probably require them using it.

@developerjustin fortunately or unfortunately, depending how you look at it, that's obviously not the case here.
They literally have a financial deal with corporate social media platforms and don't have a deal with Bluesky.
However, even if they did have a deal with Bluesky, that's not the Fediverse and won't benefit anyone here unless they use the 3rd party bridge that barely anyone uses.😩

@developerjustin as a Brit that seems so weird. The Premier League deals with the teams TV and radio and streaming deals, but has no say in where the teams post.

@Craktok this is kind of a running joke in our house because my wife swears she can tell when the F1 drivers “get their phones back” because some of the content is so radically different and more personable than the rest.
